Light gauge steel framing allows floor to ceiling glass windows and doors to be placed anywhere in the home, creating large clear span spaces. Composite materials are the ones used in the airline, ship building and car manufacturing industries. ATD components are a mixture of very light and very durable, very hard and flexible materials. In our case we use expanded polystyrene (EPS) as the basis of our walls, mixed with light gauge steel studs which when bonded together make for a super sturdy, hurricane resistant home.

When you build under one roof, instead of under the elements of the sun and the rain, you can work every day in a normal fashion or not depending on the weather. Materials don't get wet. Bonding agents actually bond. Openings for doors and windows are inserted and installed during the manufacturing process. When they arrive at the site, each panel is ready to perform at its best. Details like these are key to stability and durability performance.

Closed cells expanded polystyrene does not allow mold and other fungi. Because they use steel and expanded polystyrene, it is not nutritional or attractive to wood-boring insects such as termites. The mix of expanded polystyrene and fiberglass insulation improve the attenuation of sound throughout the structure. Closed cells eliminate moisture absorption, increase structural strength, reduce airflow and reduce sound transfer compared to open cells of traditional structures.
